Colonel Thomas Theis is the Vice Commander for North Central Region.
In addition to assisting the commander, Col. Theis is responsible for the analytics that are key to developing, and measuring the success of, strategies for the region.

Col Theis’ command experience in Minnesota Wing includes serving as a commander of eight squadrons (Bloomington, West Metro, Valley, North Hennepin, Viking, 130th, St Cloud and Alexandria Squadrons), Group III Headquarters and as the Minnesota Wing commander from 2008 through 2011.

He served four years of active duty with the USAF at SAC Headquarters, Offutt AFB, NE as a crew member aboard the EC-135 Airborne Command Post (Looking Glass); Underground Command Post and Base Communications Center as a supervisor in the communications center of the 934th Airlift Wing. His final sixteen years were as a Reservist with the 934th Airlift Wing.

Col Theis holds a private pilot license and commercial helicopter license.
